Customs and trade document processing

Extract data from shipping and customs documents into structured records that trade teams review against the source pages.

Documents in

  • Shipping bills
  • Bills of entry
  • Bills of lading
  • Air waybills
  • E-way bills
  • GST e-invoices
  • Commercial invoices and packing lists
  • Certificates of origin

How it runs

  1. Intake

Shipment documents are uploaded or sent via API, often as combined packets, and tracked as jobs.

  2. Text extraction and OCR

Text is extracted from digital files and scanned or photographed documents are read with OCR.

  3. Classification and schema matching

Each document in the packet is identified and matched to a schema in the India logistics and trade pack. Unmatched documents are flagged.

  4. Field extraction

Parties, consignment details, product descriptions, values, document numbers and dates are extracted with confidence values.

  5. Human review

Uncertain fields and unmatched documents pause for a trade or compliance executive to correct and approve.

  6. Output

Structured results and summaries are delivered via API and webhooks and indexed for search.

What you get

  • Structured record for each shipping and customs document
  • Packet contents separated and labelled by document type
  • Reviewer-confirmed values on key shipment fields
  • Searchable shipment document history

Where review fits

Numbers that appear on several documents, such as invoice values and document references, are good candidates for review. A person checks them against the source pages and corrects the record of each document where needed.

Integration points

Structured data is delivered via API and webhooks. Droqify reads and structures documents; filing with customs or government portals stays with the customer’s existing process. Starting schemas come from the pack and can be adapted.
